We need a ruling on our Articulate game…help before there is blood shed!?
We are playing articualte…I don’t know if you’re aware of the game but you have a round board which you work your way around by describing words and how ever many words you move so many spaces. There is a start and a finish line.
Me and my mum were on one team and boyfriend and sister on the other. They went first. Me and my mum were ahead the WHOLE game, and then we were one answer away from the finish line. My boyfriend and sister were 4 spaces behind and then crossed the finish line.
Now the point is that they had one more go than us to cross the finish line, how is that fair since we were in the lead the whole way around the board.
So please, we need a ruling. There will be blood shed today!!
…
They started first
We were in the lead the whole way around
They moved past the line first having one more go than us.
Me n mum then to prove a point took our last go and we are 4 spaces ahead of them.
How is this fair???
Thank you!!
If a horse is leading a race until another horse passes him an inch before the finish line, the passing horse wins.
Unless the rules to your game specify that all teams get the same number of turns, the first team to finsh line wins.
I am looking for a new fun board game to play with my family come the holiday season. We like games that are mentally stimulating but still leave room for conversation.
In the past we have played Uno, Mexican Train Dominoes, Taboo, we very frequently play apples to apples to the point where 2 people are so good at it, they always win, and its not fun anymore. We also tried Smarta*s, but some think it requires too much previous knowledge, so we dont play very often.
Any suggestions, as well as a description of the game would be most appreciated!
Also- we generally play with between 5-10 players, all above age 21
Monopoly is AWESOME! but it takes way too long. We have played scatagories and cranium as well, but everyone really tends to like stuff like apples to apples where whatever is happening in the game leads to conversation. Thanks for the tips!
You want games like Hearts and Spades using a deck of playing cards.
There are so many board game awards out there from the Origins to the Spiel. It’s kind of like how there are so many movie award shows, eg. golden globe. Can anyone tell me which one of those board game awards is the “Oscars” of them all.
Spiel des Jahres. German for Game of the Year. Note that it really only judges Euro-style Board Games, not Ameritrash games. So if you like Descent, Runebound, Twilight Imperium, etc., you won’t find these as contenders for Spiel des Jahres (though you’ll find a bunch of other good stuff like Agricola, Dominion, etc.)
