Consumer camcorders vs. Prosumer Camcorders: What's the real difference?
I have been doing some research on camcorders, and I can't seem to find enough of a difference between a camera like a sony nex vg10 or a panasonic hxr mc2000u compared to a panasonic HDC TM900 or a vixia hv40. I do want to buy a camcorder for shooting short films and if anyone has any ideas for a good one to shoot with for somewhat stylistically dark videos, then I would love to get some feedback on what I could buy. My budget is $2500.

i'm looking at high end camcorders in the 1000 to 5000 dollar range and many of them are just ran with memory flash drives and many are the HDV tapes and many with both. so I was just wondering which is best if I'm going for the quality??
What are some good, affordable camcorders for skateboarding?
Hey guys, I want to start filming some skating just for fun and I wanna start saving up so. I know that there's a great camcorder called ContourRoam and it's like $200, not expensive but I'm looking for a camera that's around that price range, a bit larger at least usable as a proper hand held camera , good quality audio video and like you're able to see what you just recorded with the camera without using USB and plugging it onto the computer and stuff so you can actually see whether you're getting a good angle. I haven't really taken this seriously so I have to kinda learn how to film.I've seen a lot of people using this kinds of cameras, the hand held camcorders and I want one like with a handle and also compatible with fisheye lenses i think every camcorder is? haha not sure . so if you guys can help it'd be greatly appreciated and i'll definitely pick the best for the best answer thanks guys so basically i want a camcorder that's handheld not big great video audio quality affordable instant playback with a handle or maybe you can mount a handle onto it?

Any good semi-professional camcorders at a cheap price?
I'm looking to start making my own short films, trailers, music videos, etc, and need a camcorder to begin filming. The only problem is I don't know any decent ones to use or the editing software to put all of it together. I've got a budget of around 500 600 but that needs to include the software as well. Any help would be greatly appreaciated, thanks.
Good video cameras/camcorders for making videos for YouTube and are cheap?
I've been dying to make videos for YouTube, and my dad wont let me use his so im saving up for my own camera camcorder. Maybe between 30 90 dollars. No Sony cameras, those are really expensive i get paid $20 every week for babysitting and sometimes i dont even get to babysit so something cheap, but has good video quality and audio. And something that i can edit and upload to iMovie. im not computer or video smart so i dont know if any camera can be used with iMovie p I'm not sure if this is one of those things that involves the saying or analogy? " You cant have your cake and eat it to" so dont call me an idiot for not knowing this Thx in advance
Are there small camcorders that can record for 2 to 4 hours.?
Like the size of a cell phone or thereabouts. That record videos continous for 2 to 4 hours straight. So you can leave it on an have it running. Like which ones are they and do you need a special card?

I am a recording artist who has been in the business for about 12 years, I am now looking to expand into music videos marketing, I do have some experience with video editing however I am not to fond with the right cameras I should use.1. I was told to use Mini DV Camcorders for music videos, why is that?2. what is the difference between the two?3.
